2013 Ford Edge
This problem may be covered under warranty. Inquire your Ford dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying "door ajar" alarm light that won't close off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-nowadays imitation reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that tin bleed the battery, get out the doors unlocked while in motility, or return the central fob useless.

Right afterwards we spent $600 CDN ($450 Usa) to fix the dreaded "Door Ajar" issue, the "Shift to Park" prompt comes on. I am hoping that this doesn't lead to additional bug like a dead battery. Since Ford has washed quite the chore of ignoring the previous result (they even sent an email to say that someone would call and discuss the consequence within 3 days...a calendar month ago) we don't await whatsoever resolution from them with this issue.
We certainly won't be buying another Ford product ever, even if half my neighbours work at the local establish where this vehicle was made.

The Shift to Park notification kept coming on, even when driving. I could not lock my car due to this, plus I had to listen to an annoying beep every time I slowed down. Not being able to lock my car means that I can't leave anything of value in my car!!
This was fixed under warranty. The entire shifter had to be replaced!!

This problem is known by Ford and they take issued a TBS but turn down to accept responsibility for their defective manufacturing. Existence the greedy money hungry big corporation they are when I called to complain I was given the shaft. Information technology is incorrect. Subsequently owning three Ford vehicles this volition be the last! I have a rule that once a visitor screws me over I cut them loose. They, by lack of responsibleness, have lost a customer.

This should have been covered nether a recall. I have driven other vehicles for 250,000 miles and take NEVER
had to supplant a gear shift. I empathize the teeth in the gear was chipped or broken. This is a manufacturer's defect and should have been recalled. I'yard ready to merchandise this vehicle in.

This problem started but afterward my Border went out of warranty, go figure. The shift to park, door ajar, and the fact that you can but lock the auto when information technology is in park has become very abrasive!!!! When I took the Edge to the dealership where it was purchased they wanted to supersede the whole gear shift forth with the door sensor that senses the door close all very expensive. The money is an upshot with me just I consider the doors not locking while the vehicle is in bulldoze a danger. When stopped at a ruby-red light or in traffic with doors non locked is very dangerous this day and fourth dimension, anyone could open a car door and hop right in the car with me.
With the car not sensing the door shut the interior and exterior lights volition periodically come up on and become out after several minutes. When the wind blows and shakes the car the alert will go off because the sensor thinks someone is trying to get in the locked vehicle.
This is not but irritating simply is unsafe, the door could pop open while driving down the road!!!! And terminal, I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR MY 2013 FORD Edge Express EDITION AND It IS Inferior TO MY 2008 FORD Border LIMITED EDITION I TRADED IN ON IT!!!!!!!! AND I THINK FORD SHOULD Think AND FIX THE Trouble!!!!! Seriously, nosotros are a Ford family and have been for a long time and I idea FORD was amend than this.

The 'shift to park' light on my 2013 Ford Edge comes on when the auto comes to a complete stop such as at a finish sign. Not sure if this is connected to the 'door ajar' light trouble I am currently having.

Shift to park light stays on although vehicle is in park. If I jam information technology hard, it will often get out, sometimes I have to put it drive and park over again before the light goes off. Good day- took information technology to the local dealership who said they know about the trouble only they could not do anything about it because they could not duplicate information technology. Really! Still driving it this happens almost every time I drive information technology. Getting tired of this, thinking about getting rid of this lemon.

This alarm is a new one added to a list of things that go along to happen including the diver'south rear door says that information technology is open and keeps the interior lights on. The outside lights will come up on while sitting in my laneway causing people to knock on my door telling me my lights are on. Not the headlights, the lights nether the rearview mirrors and licence plate, etc. So far, this has not caused me to not be able to first my machine. Sometimes it volition take up to 20 times to connect a Bluetooth device.

I loved my 2013 Edge until the past 3 months. All of a sudden when I put the car in park and turn off the car, often information technology will chinkle and say put the car in park. I can't get it to stop until I jiggle and bank the shifter. At present when I go to start the motorcar I also go the "no central detected" bulletin. This week my sync is not keeping my phonebook and will lose numbers randomly.

Just had the brake booster replaced in April. Got lucky that there was a retrieve out for that issue merely did non notice out until we checked on the net for recalls and certain enough there was 1 for the brake booster. A month after at approx. 37,000 miles the bulletin "Shift in Park" started popping upward when shutting off the vehicle. Accept not seen whatever other complaints on the 2013 model Border simply did encounter the same complaint on a 2012 Edge so I'g guessing it'southward a known issue with Ford. Hoping they do a recall but unless they feel information technology'southward a dangerous defect will probably accept to pay a dealer to diagnose and set. I'm really wanting to like this Edge but if this thing continues to accept issues I'm going to be pissed considering how much this sucker cost!

This is definitely an annoying result that keeps the seat from sliding back when I exit the car and causes you not to exist able to start the vehicle remotely. Not to mention the alert light on the screen is probably running downwards the battery. I have to jiggle the gear shift for quite a bit to get information technology to lite upward in park sometimes. Non really worth fixing to me because it wouldn't increase the value of my auto by the amount it costs to prepare. It's irritating to spend a good deal of money on a "overnice" car and take all the issues that these do though.
